With a field goal in the final seconds of the matchup, the Raiders stole a 16-14 victory on the road against the Browns.

Derek Carr helped lead the Raiders to get within scoring range in the final minutes of the drive. After he threw an interception with just under three minutes remaining, the quarterback connected with wide reciever Zay Jones for a combined 44 yards to get Las Vegas inside the Cleveland 30.

Carr completed 25 passes for 230 total yards and connected with Bryan Edwards on a touchdown pass in the first quarter. While the offense felt the pressure from Browns’ safety M.J. Steward Jr., the Raiders were still able to drive on the ground. Las Vegas recorded 98 total rushing yards and running back Josh Jacobs led the team with 52.

On the other hand, the Browns felt the absence of their several starters. Third-string quarterback Nick Mullens took over for Cleveland and completed 20 of 30 passes for 147 yards and a touchdown. Running back Nick Chubb carried the Browns offense and recorded 91 rushing yards with a score.

The Browns’ defense recorded two total sacks and recovered a fumble knocked loose by Myles Garrett, which allowed Cleveland to cut the Raiders’ lead by three. As Carlson sealed the Browns’ fate in the final seconds with his 48-yard attempt, Cleveland dropped down to 12th in the AFC Playoff race. They are scheduled to face the Packers for their next matchup on Christmas Day.

With the win against the Browns on the road, the Raiders’ playoff chances climb to about 11 percent. They are scheduled to return home and take on the Broncos next Sunday before they face the Colts, who currently hold the top wild-card position.
