Folk in Fredonia Music Series presents: Sue Tillotson and Jim Cunningham

1891 Fredonia Opera House at 7:30 p.m. The musicians present Celtic music with exciting instrumentation. Tickets are $17 general admission, $15 Opera House members and $10 students. Masks are no longer required at Fredonia Opera House events, but all patrons are encouraged to wear masks while in the venue, and to socially distance when possible. Masks are available in the lobby and in the box office if needed.

Ploetz’s Maple Syrup maple weekend

12833 Downd Road, Springville, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., all you can eat pancakes served – adults:$9, ages 4 to 10, $5, 3 and under free. Dine in or take out. Sales room open with syrup and maple products. Wagon rides, small farm animals, maple samples and mini tours. Maple pulled pork sandwiches and maple hot dogs available until 4 p.m.

Arcade & Attica Railroad Train Ride, Tour and Pancake Breakfast

The train leaves from the station at 278 Main St. , Arcade and travels to North Java. There will be two rides each day – the first at 9 a.m. and the second at 12:30 p.m. The cost of $55 per person includes the train ride, tour of Kibler Sugar Shack and a pancake breakfast catered meal by Wayne Abbott from the Flipside.. Fredonia Farmers Market

The Fredonia Farmers’ Market is held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday November through mid-May at the Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia. It features a variety of vendors, with special events TBA.

Fredonia Food Pantry

The Fredonia Food Pantry, Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave., will be open from 10 a.m, to noon. The pantry serves the needs of Fredonia area code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.

Anderson-Lee Library presents: “Puzzles and Pie”

43 Main St., Silver Creek from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Who will assemble a 500-piece puzzle the fastest? Gather a team of three to five people, adults and teens only, to assemble a 500-piece puzzle and eat pie. Preregistration required. Call 716 934-3468.

Lakeshore Humane Society open adoption hours

The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. Regardless of vaccination status, masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times on LHS grounds. Those who are ill, have tested positive for COVID, or have been near someone who has tested positive are asked to delay a visit. Tours of the facility will not be given. Individual appointments are available throughout the week. The Cat’s Meow Boutique will be open for purchases by the public. For details, call 716 672-1991.

Gowanda Moose Lodge 1382 towel bingo

201 Aldrich St., doors open at noon, games start at 1 p.m. There will also be a basket raffle, 50/50 and a quarter raffle. Food is available for purchase. Admission is $5, with $1 extra boards.

HOPE (Healing Our Pain with Empathy) meeting

All parents who have experienced the death of a child are invited to participate in the free HOPE grief support group.
