Evelyn Faye Vogel, 75, of Hermann, MO, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, Missouri. She was born in Hermann on October 16, 1946, a daughter of Vernon G. and Grace Amanda (Dothage) Gloe. On October 16, 1965, she was united in marriage to Bobbie L. Vogel in Rhineland, Missouri.
She was a member of St. George Church in Hermann. Evelyn was the church organist at St. Anthony’s Church in Case, MO, for many years. She was also the church organist at St. George Church in Hermann for over 25 years. She was the treasurer and secretary of the Hermann Rural Fire Association for over 42 years and the secretary for the Case-Gore Community club.
She worked as a loan officer and teller at Bay-Hermann-Berger Bank, then the Missouri Bank in Hermann. She enjoyed going to bingo, tending to her flowers, and she was an avid gardener. She also loved to do needlework and spend time with her grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Bobbie; a daughter, Candice Issac of Millstadt, IL; a son, Donald Vogel and wife Christina of Wellsville, MO; a son, Brian Vogel and wife Jana of Bluffton, MO; a daughter, Denise Kennedy and husband Kevin of Morrison, MO; two sisters, Arlene Ashburn and husband Howard of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Donna Hebb and husband Ken of Stony Hill, MO; five brothers, Harold Gloe and wife Geralyn of Hermann; Lloyd Gloe and wife Donna of Springfield, MO; Roger Gloe and wife Melinda of Amarillo, TX; Ardel Gloe and wife Rose of Hermann, and Dale Gloe and wife Marsha of Hermann.
She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Brandelyn Taylor, James Vogel, Christopher Vogel, Rebecca Vogel, Alexandra Vogel, Zachary Vogel, Karley Vogel, Holt Vogel, Allyson Branson, Christopher Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy and Jesse Kennedy; and by five great-grandchildren, Hunter Branson Rowe, Noah Branson, and Dustin, Destiny and Cameron Kennedy. She is preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Blake Vogel.
Rosary vigil service will be held Tuesday, April 5th, at 3:30 p.m. at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann followed by visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 6th, at 10 a.m. at St. George Church in Hermann, with Father Philip Niekamp officiating.
