Down two at the end of last quarter, the Detroit Pistons have now snagged the lead. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Miami Heat 82-70 three quarters in.
Small forward Saddiq Bey has led the way so far for Detroit, as he has 16 points. One thing to keep an eye out for is Cade Cunningham’s foul situation as he currently sits at four.
Miami has enjoyed the tag-team combination of point guard Kyle Lowry and shooting guard Max Strus. The former has 13 points and seven assists, while the latter has 17 points.

What to Know
The Detroit Pistons have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Miami Heat and are hoping to record their first win since January 16th. The Pistons are getting right back to it as they host Miami at 6 p.m. ET Dec. 19 at Little Caesars Arena. While the odds are definitely not in Detroit’s favor, at least they’ll be on their home court in front of their own fans.
Detroit came up short against the Houston Rockets this past Saturday, falling 116-107. Detroit’s defeat shouldn’t obscure the performances of shooting guard Cade Cunningham, who posted a double-double on 21 points and 11 dimes along with seven rebounds, and small forward Saddiq Bey, who had 23 points.
Meanwhile, Miami beat the Orlando Magic 115-105 this past Friday. Miami’s shooting guard Max Strus was one of the most active players for the squad, shooting 8-for-11 from beyond the arc and finishing with 32 points and seven boards.
The Pistons are now 4-24 while the Heat sit at 18-12. Two defensive stats to keep an eye on: Detroit has allowed their opponents to shoot 47.80% from the floor on average, which is the highest shooting percentage allowed in the league. Miami’s defense has more to brag about, as they they enter the matchup with only 103.8 points allowed per game on average, good for third best in the league. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
