Angel trees and toy drives will take place at Y branches across the North Texas
DALLAS, TX (Dec. 7, 2021) – The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas will be hosting Angel Trees and toy drives throughout the holiday season to help North Texans in need have gifts for their families at Christmas. The YMCA is providing an easy and convenient way to give back this holiday season. Branches throughout the Metroplex will be participating in these holiday donation drives, with details on participating branches below.
“When you adopt a family through the Angel Tree program or donate a new toy, you are giving the gift of hope to a family,” said Curt Hazelbaker, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. “Christmas is a celebration. Angel Trees and toy drives are a way the YMCA can make sure that celebration is possible for all.”
Frisco Family YMCA: Holding a toy drive in partnership with the City of Frisco. A donation box is set up in the lobby of the Frisco YMCA. In addition, if you would like to donate gifts for families as part of the Angel Tree, please contact Nikki Golding at [email protected] and she will share current needs.
Grand Prairie Family YMCA: In partnership with Lifeline, helping families experiencing homelessness or are in need. A Christmas Tree went up the week of November 29th and presents are being collected through mid-December to go to families in need.
JER Chilton YMCA at Rockwall: An Angel Tree is set up to benefit families in the Y for All Program. Gifts are being collected throughout the month of December.
Lake Highlands YMCA: The Angel Tree will benefit the Y for All Program. All unwrapped presents are due by December 17.
Moody Family YMCA: Partnering with the Town of Highland Park for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots toy drive. A donation box is set up in the lobby of the Moody YMCA, with toys being collected through December 12.
Park South Family YMCA: Through the Dallas YMCA Catalyst Initiative, Y staff and volunteers will be gathering and delivering holiday food baskets to families in need in various communities around the DFW metroplex. Basket creation and delivery will be coordinated at the Park South Family Y on Saturday, Dec 18.
Richardson Family YMCA: The Angel Tree will benefit the Y for All Program. All unwrapped presents are due by December 17.
Semones Family YMCA (North Dallas): An Angel Tree will help support the needs of families in the Y for All Program including those in the outreach afterschool programs and neighboring apartment communities. All unwrapped presents are being collected through December 11 to distribute to families by Christmas.
White Rock YMCA: An Angel Tree is benefitting the Y for All Program. Unwrapped presents are due by December 14.
