Russia’s advance into Ukraine continues. The Ukrainian capital of Kyiv remained under Ukrainian control as dawn broke Sunday, with a key official in Kyiv’s city administration asserting that “the capital is completely controlled by the Ukrainian army and defense.”
Overnight, the Kremlin’s forces blew up oil facilities in northern Ukraine, triggering fears the two separate explosions in Kharkiv and Vasylkiv could be catastrophic for the environment. The resulting blast was so powerful that the government in Kharkiv had to clarify that “this is NOT a nuclear strike.”
